In the age of the 1,552-calorie Bloomin’ Onion and salads that pack as much fat as cheeseburgers, it’s obvious that what’s hot in restaurants isn’t always good for your diet. (Last year’s cupcake rage certainly didn’t help anyone lose weight.) This year, instead of “organic” and “artificial sweeteners,” we’re hearing buzzwords such as “gluten-free” and “hyper-local.” The cupcake is out and macarons are in.
