A new study came out recently that asked the question “Walking vs. Running? Which Is Better?” The results revealed that one is not better than the other, however, you just have to briskly walk longer than run to reap the health benefits. I first came across this on Twitter. (Yep – one of my go-to’s for current news!) My immediate response and tweet was: “The one you will actually do!”.  Think about it, what really matters at the end of the day is that you find something that you enjoy and do it on a regular basis. Running? Walking? Cycling? Yoga? You name it…..just do it!

Keri’s Bar: Tequila Sunrise Mimosa

Today is National Mimosa Day! And, obviously, I’m in for any day that celebrates cocktails! (Still waiting on a National Martini Day, though!) As you know, a typical mimosa is orange juice and champagne, but there are so many fun twists you can put on this drink. SO, thanks to my friends at Florida’s Natural  and the Florida’s Natural Brunch Club, I found a special recipe from the Gimme Some Oven blog to share with you.

Ali’s recipe includes only 5 ingredients: tequila or mezcal, not-from-concentrate Florida’s Natural® Brand Orange Juice, grenadine, champagne and lime. Sounds delicious, right?  And, unlike other brands, Florida’s Natural only uses oranges that are hand-picked from its grower-owned orange groves in Florida.

Cheers!

p.s. This post is paid for by Florida’s Natural, but really, there is no denying my love for the brand.

10 Best Morning Snacks for Weight Loss

Guess what – these snacks are not only for weight loss and can be eaten in the afternoon! Who knew? 🙂 Anyway, for some great snack options check out this article I was interviewed for by Women’s Health.  One thing I would like to add is that not everyone needs a morning snack. For example, if your breakfast was @9am and lunch @12:30, I think you could skip it! However, if breakfast was @8am and lunch @1pm, you might need one. Really learn to listen to your body and not simply grab for a snack because you think you should. Food is not always the answer.

Gone are the days when you could complain that there was nothing to eat at the airport!!! Trust me – I’m not saying that ALL airports have healthy choices but most do and they have definitely improved from years ago. Of course, you can simply choose to ignore and still find an unhealthy choice because there’s still plenty of those around. Either way, you might want to make sure you eat something, since as you know planes these days are rather skimpy when it comes to food! Oh – and leg room too 🙁
