HELLO 2018! This is the first Keri Report of the New Year! I hope everyone is off to a great start and if you made any resolutions you are still sticking with them. I know its only been 9 days, but hey, thought I should check! On New Years Day I took a yoga class to start the year off feeling great. At the end of class my teacher read us a quote by Emma Watson, “If not you, who? If not now, when?” Honestly, I can’t get this out of my head – it really resonated with me! SO, thought I’d share 🙂
In this week’s The Keri Report:
- Dietitian tips to stay on course with New Year’s Resolutions
- A Dietitian’s Blunt Take on the 10 Most Googled Diets of 2017
- Please Stop Using These Words To Describe Bodies, Diets, and Food
Dietitian tips to stay on course with New Year’s resolutions – Good Morning America
Thrilled to of started the New Year with an appearance on Good Morning America working with Splenda. With a segment that is not even 3 minutes long, trust me, not that easy to supply ALL the info I would like. A quick takeaway: 1. Choose healthier condiments, such as hummus, avocado and salsa. 2. Equip yourself in the kitchen with helpful gadgets like a spray bottle or oil brush! AND 3. Rethink your drink – ditch added sugars for a low-calorie sweetener. Let me know what you think!
A Dietitian’s Blunt Take on the 10 Most Googled Diets of 2017 – U.S. News Eat + Run
So every year, since 2012, I have been doing this same type of story in the New Year. And it never ceases to amaze me on what the most googled diets are!!!! Just when I think I have heard of every diet out there another one rears its ugly head. There are also those that just don’t seem to disappear no matter how hard I wish they would. On a positive note – this year TWO diets that actually make sense appeared. Alas, maybe there is hope for us after all!
Please Stop Using These 16 Words To Describe Bodies, Diets, And Food – BuzzFeed
So much fun being interviewed for this story! As you can imagine there are many words that are used in the “diet” community, cheat day, detox, flat belly, etc…. that I wish would disappear. I do think though there might be a light at the end of the tunnel – BUT, I also think that tunnel might be a little long. Personally, I hate actually driving through long tunnels but that is another completely different topic 🙂
