Have to admit during the cold winter months I sometimes love doing nothing more than being a hermit. Staying home ALL day in sweat pants and binge watching TV can seem like heaven. So why then do I feel guilty?  Why do I feel that I always have to be productive first before I am unproductive? Anyone relate? Well, just so you know, I am working on this. Giving myself permission to do nothing! No checking emails, no social media (especially NO Instagram), and no work what so ever! Hey, life is a work in progress. Maybe I will even get comfortable with doing nothing in the summer? I know, CRAZY?! 🙂

Healthier Recipes for Potatoes, Cobbler, Stew and Other Comfort Foods –  U.S. News Eat + Run Blog

So besides loving to do nothing in the winter, I confess that sometimes I also don’t care about eating healthy! For example: dinner without a side salad, a sandwich that doesn’t include veggies, or not one piece of fruit the entire day. Shocking, right? On days like these I gravitate towards mashed potatoes, soups and burgers. I try however if eating at home to make a healthier version of them. As always, sure that I couldn’t be alone here, I asked my nutritionist pals what they craved and if they had any tips to to making their dish healthier.

Thank god another hot topic to report on! Otherwise, would I have a job? 🙂 The latest fad of the hour is collagen. Actually though it isn’t that new to me. I wrote about collagen for US News three years ago when bone broth first became popular. Now it seems supplementing with collagen is the thing to do. Hey, there is preliminary research that consuming collagen might have some merit – but is it really the end all? Read on my friends….

How to Finally Lose Those Last 5 PoundsShape Magazine

Those last five pounds can surely be a bi**h, right? But what if you truly have tried everything and the scale still doesn’t move? Maybe, just maybe, instead of worrying anymore about losing the weight you focus on accepting your weight. Love that Shape included this quote of mine in the article. “After all, life is too short not to enjoy a French fry.” Enough said.
