Today in yoga I tried a variation of a pose that I haven’t done before. Well – that isn’t exactly true. I tried it 3 days before for the first time but couldn’t get my legs up. Yet today – up they went and it felt so good. Still need to work on raising my chin, but I’ll leave that for another day. I thought about this after class for a while and it reminded me of so many conversations I have with my patients. Losing weight/eating healthy might now happen right away. There will be plenty of stumbles and times when you are extremely frustrated that it might never happen. And I get that. But what I don’t get, is giving up completely. Your eating doesn’t need to be perfect it just needs to be better than it was the day before. In my opinion that is worth trying for.

Keri’s Kitchen: Hummus Egg on Crispbread

I love eggs….I love hummus! AND I love to combine them.

The other day for a snack I combined one hardboiled egg with one heaping TBSP of hummus and put it on a WASA cracker with a slice of tomato. YUM! I have done this creation countless times before but usually for lunch (ingredients doubled) on two slice of 100% whole grain bread. The sandwich packs in the fiber and protein.

I am now happy to report it is just has satisfying for a snack! Actually any typical sandwich topping served on a whole grain crispbread , i.e tuna, turkey, chicken, would be great as a snack. Just remember that your portions need to be for a mini meal and not a major meal.

12 Ways To Get A Metabolism of a 25-Year-Old

SO many times I am interviewed by magazines on what foods will boost metabolism. AND as I always tell them, there really aren’t any said foods, but rather, overall lifestyle changes one can make. Thanks to Reader’s Digest for this article (and interview) on what one can do to speed up their metabolism. Now having it match a 25 year old’s – that’s another story 🙂

This New Study May Justify Your Love of Cheese

Whenever a new study is released, you probably need to take it with a grain of salt. So many times there are unanswered questions that really could of had an effect on the final result. Take this new study on cheese that Allure Magazine so kindly interviewed me for – I had way too many questions on the participants other behaviors. Read on for more….

P.S.  None the less, I am a  HUGE cheese lover!
