I can definitely be a creature of habit. Does anyone else have one dish that they order from a restaurant EVERY time they go there? Doesn’t matter what the specials are, doesn’t matter if I ate it last week….at The Beacon, in Sag Harbor, NY, I always order the halibut and cous cous in parchment paper. And of course a salad (and martini) to start! Well OK, maybe I did have a burger once! There is nothing wrong with being consistent. If anything, consistency is what helps many people stay on track with their healthy eating goals. SO unless you’re about to scream “I’m bored!” don’t be afraid to order something that’s healthy over and over again.

Keri’s Kitchen: Branzino on the Grill

Recently a friend of mine asked me about my recipe for grilled whole fish that I shared last summer in The Keri Report. Since many of you are new subscribers (or perhaps missed this last summer) I decided to re-post my recipe. Just made it again the other night for me and hubby and have to say, we were NOT disappointed!!!!

Instructions:
1. Heat clean grill to medium high.
2. Put fresh rosemary (or thyme) and sliced lemon inside fish.
3. Rub olive oil on outside of fish (both sides), then salt & pepper.
4. Place on grill and cook for 4 minutes per side.
5. Serve whole with side of lemon. OR you can fillet each piece before serving if you have individuals who hate the look of a whole fish!

10 Kitchen Gadgets That Help You Lose WeightNBCNews.com

I LOVE kitchen gadgets. Honestly can’t say I use every one that I have, but some are definitely life savers. Also can’t say that if you use kitchen gadgets you will lose weight, BUT chances are if you are mindfully cooking more at home that you will. Check out this article by my RD pal, Samantha Cassetty, for some really cool gadgets that you should probably own. Now if only I had more space in my kitchen!!!

Artificial Sweeteners Are Linked To Weight Gain and Other Health Issues Yahoo! Beauty

Love (and hate!) when an article like this appears. Observational studies are NOT able to prove cause & effect. Drives me crazy when reported otherwise! So glad to hve been interviewed and able to add some common sense and facts to this story. As many of you already know Splenda is a partner of mine and I take this type of misinformation to heart.
