Well, I finally tackled chin stand. What is that you ask? Just some crazy yoga pose that my husband thinks I shouldn’t even be doing. Ha! Around two years ago I saw some people doing this pose in a yoga class and I had no idea on how to do it. I started asking some of my yoga teachers about it and if they could teach me. They gave me some good tips, and every once in a while I gave it a try, getting a little closer to my goal. Meanwhile a dear yogi friend of mine told me of course I could do this pose. “If I can do it, you can do it”, she said, over and over again. Recently we were in class together and she showed me how. And voila – I did it! Moral of the story: don’t be afraid to ask for help, surround yourself by individuals who encourage and support you, and never give up!

Keri’s Kitchen: Egg & Cheese Sandwich

Now I know this is going to be a shock for many of you, but the other day I was out of peanut butter and just couldn’t enjoy my typical oatmeal breakfast without it!!! I know, crazy!!!!! SO – I decided to go out on a limb and enjoy my second favorite food for breakfast – eggs! Hey, I eat eggs ALL the time, but more for lunch and dinner. But what I did was so, so easy, that I might actually have to include this sandwich a little bit more.

Here you go: Sprayed 8″ skillet with non-stick olive oil and heated. Cracked one egg sunny-side up into skillet. Meanwhile in toaster, placed an Arnold’s* 100% Whole Wheat Sandwich Thin and toasted to golden. Removed from toaster and put one slice of swiss cheese on one half. Flipped egg so yolk not as runny and when it looked done put on top of cheese and closed the sandwich. Ta da!!!!

*Arnold Breads is a client of mine; however, I was not paid for this post. The bread just happened to be in my freezer and was used in this quick and easy meal.

11 Healthy Superbowl Recipes and Ideas

Yes, the Superbowl game is over – AND what a game it was! Honestly, it wasn’t until Sunday that I knew exactly who was playing, but none the less I tuned in to watch. OK – so I tuned in to see Lady Gaga and then continued watching because it was actually exciting. Anyhow, I think the recipes that I got from many of my nutrition pals for my US News blog will come come in handy not only for football parties but for any event.

Here’s Why People Are Putting Purple Yams In Their Desserts

“At the end of the day, a dessert is still a dessert, most likely with too much added sugar, fat, and calories,” – said me! Always find it funny when people want to justify eating dessert. If you like, eat it. But don’t think because you add a nutritious purple yam to ice cream, you are no longer eating ice cream. Read my interview with Men’s Health for the scoop!
