On Sunday I watched the NYC Marathon from the street. I cheered, I applauded and I was inspired among complete strangers. There is something about this event, especially when I watch the wheelchair division, that makes me feel anything is possible. It might be hard to explain, but as I see every runner race by I think about their commitment to get to this moment no matter what their story may be, and I feel grateful. Grateful that I live in a place where we can physically challenge ourselves if we want and grateful that we can support one another along the way.

You Ask, I Answer: “Should I Meditate?”

The simple answer here: “If you want to!”

Meditation is hot right now and so many people feel they SHOULD do it. Hey, I will not argue that meditating can be a very useful tool in keeping our bodies healthy and I actually find myself recommending others give it a try. However, I will argue that it isn’t for everyone. Case in point, for me! That is, in the traditional sense.

Funny thing is, I think I meditate. If I can get my mind to stop with all its chatter couldn’t that be considered meditating? Read my recent US News blog on just this topic here. Curious as to everyone’s thoughts – namaste!

OK, I will admit I RARELY use a cookbook. BUT, I definitely recommend them to others who are interested, especially if they are complaining they are getting BORED in the kitchen. Quick and easy is my motto in my own kitchen and I look for the same in a cookbook. My recommendation for this article is probably a little biased since Jackie Newgent is a personal friend of mine, but her recipes really are delicious! Don’t be confused by diabetes in the title since really it is just healthy eating by another name.

The 6 Best Things To Order at IHOP, According to Nutritionists Women’s Health

This article is another example of how you really can eat healthy anywhere you go. IHOP? You bet! Honestly a lot of the picks here can be recreated at other places where breakfast is offered. As I have said time and time again, it isn’t necessarily dining out that is troublesome, it is what WE CHOOSE to order. At the end of the day, we just need to choose better!
