I love pasta so much I always joke that I should of been born Italian. But I also joke a lot about how little time I actually like to spend in the kitchen. The problems as I see it though are: 1. I love a home-cooked meal, 2. I am so bored with ordering in, and 3.I didn’t marry a chef. SO based on all this, I have learned to be creative in the kitchen. And trust me, if I can, so can you. You don’t need fancy recipes that include way too many ingredients and take too much time of which you don’t have. What you need is to trust yourself, take risks and be willing to have a couple of flops. And I guess Google wouldn’t hurt either!

Peanut Milk: The New Nut Milk You Haven’t Tried But Should –  Shape Magazine

Just when you thought we now had every possible milk alternative there was (i.e. almond, cashew, soy, coconut, hemp, rice), another new one joins the group!!! Well, what can I say about the newest? Personally haven’t tasted it, but I do love peanuts so I am assuming I will like the taste. It has a good amount of protein so that’s encouraging. BUT it’s also lacking in calcium and vitamin D – so NOT encouraging. Hey, at the end of the day I guess there is room for a variety of non-dairy milks AND cows milk, you just need to see how it fits into your total diet.

4 Strange Things That Happen to Your Body When You Go Low-CarbMen’s Health Magazine

And even though I wrote in my last newsletter that I wished these TWO words would disappear in conjunction with each other, here they are again – “low-carb”. Until people start agreeing that not ALL carbs are created equal, I think there is always going to be carb haters. AND, not until people are willing to confront the consequences from eliminating carbs will they even consider changing. Maybe, just maybe, this article could help move things in the right direction. Fingers crossed!

6 Scary Things That Happen to Your Body If You Don’t Drink Enough Water Allure Magazine

OK, on a roll here…..another story on what can happen to your body if you don’t _______. And this time it is “scary” not “strange” – hmmm, wonder which is worse? Seriously though, drinking water is SO important for your body. Or at least staying hydrated with other non-caloric beverages or water-packed fruits and veggies. I’ll admit I am not always the best with this and sometimes find myself with a headache in the middle of the day or reaching for a snack when I should of been reaching for water. Anyone else? Let’s all try and do better.
