Goodbye summer! Hello fall! It is now official. Wish I could say I was excited for all the pumpkin and sweet potato stuff that is on the horizon. BUT no, not my thing, at all. On the other hand, it can be fun to get excited about some seasonal food thing – SO when the temperature drops, hot chocolate anyone? Hot apple cider (with a little bourbon)? More brussels sprouts (I mean who stopped eating them anyway)? Whatever your jam is – HAPPY fall everyone!

Mushroom Nutrition – U.S. News Eat + Run

When my editor at U.S. News suggested I do a story about mushrooms I was like, “Really is there that much to say about them?” Well folks, obviously there is!!! I was really amazed about all the types of mushrooms there are and how nutritious they are. I mean, I should of known that, right? Anyway – ordered myself a mushroom omelet yesterday for lunch and feel so much better!

The difference is so simple, yet I think more people misuse the terms than not. All I can say is that I was so happy to be interviewed for this story because I now know the difference and will never confuse them again or at least hope not to. Your turn!

Subway Has New Sliders on the MenuPrevention Magazine

Ummmm, just what we kinda didn’t need. I mean I guess if you want to enjoy ONE for a snack go for it, not a bad choice. BUT I truly believe their “Hungry for more?” tagline is just encouraging a slider as an add on to a meal and that is exactly what we don’t want to happen. Honestly, have always been a fan of subway because I think they offer some really better-for-you fast food options and will continue to be. But, as for the sliders – gonna slide right by them 🙂
