BE a warrior! Posted this photo over a week ago on Instagram and received such a positive response. Why? I think the sentiment “be a warrior” hits home for many. If there’s anything we all probably have in common is that at some point in our lives we had to/or will have to “fight ” for something. Whether it be in a job, a relationship, our health, actually in the playground many years ago, etc…. Everyone’s warrior may be different; however at the end of the day we are all capable of being true to ourselves and fighting for what we believe in. (OK, I’m sure being a beach shot didn’t hurt either!)

You Ask: I Answer: Charcoal Detox

The other day in yoga one of my friends told me she recently heard about a charcoal detox diet and wanted my advise on whether she should try it. You can only imagine the expression on my face when these words were uttered from her lips. Luckily as friends I neither screamed nor strangled her. I just simply tried to bring her back to her senses. Funny thing is, I wrote about the Charcoal Detox Diet almost 3 years ago for my U.S. News blog. (Obviously this friend doesn’t read my writings or doesn’t remember a thing I say!) In any event, like many bad fashions, we are not yet rid of this diet and overall detox trend. I am reposting my blog here in the hopes that 3 years from now, no one will be asking about this!!! Namaste~~~

8 Reasons Why You’re Suddenly So BloatedWomen’s Health

Can’t tell you how many times a patient of mine complains they are bloated. Truth is, there are many different reasons for it, AND what might be true for one person is not for another. So what can you do? For starters, read this article! (HA!) See what you can relate to and then try to change it. BUT if nothing you seem to do ever seems to fix the problem, please consult with your doctor!!!

Do Children Really Need To Stop Drinking Whole Milk After They Turn 2?Epicurious

Have to admit I always love a good discussion – especially when there are two different sides to the story. Whole milk vs. non-fat milk is not only a hot topic at the moment for kids but also for adults. There are going to be individuals who whole-heartedly disagree with my comments in the above article. (Bring it on…..) But in my opinion, you have to look at the BIG picture (a.k.a. total diet) and not a single food or nutrient.
