Typically I never order a salad for lunch. I am by far a sandwich lover – love my carbs! So if I am going to order a salad it has to really call my name. This past weekend I was in Florida visiting with the fam and Sunday we all went to an Italian restaurant for brunch and my name was called by the Tuscan salad. Hello, white beans, feta and avocado! I noticed a hard-boiled egg on another salad so I asked for one as well; wanted extra protein. Ordered dressing on the side, a standard “rule” in my book. Skipped the bread to make room for my Bloody Mary and didn’t even miss it!

What To Know About the “Pegan” Diet, the Trendy New Paleo-Meets-Vegan LifestyleAllure Magazine

Honestly, I have always considered myself somewhat of a trendy person. But truth be told, I guess NOT when it comes to diets! “Pegan”? Really? What will they think of next? Hey, the diet here being promoted has a lot of great attributes….plant based foods, healthy fats, and lean proteins. But at the end of the day, why can’t we just call it healthy eating. Oh – I guess that isn’t trendy enough!

Can The Trim Healthy Mama Diet Help You Lose Weight?Women’s Health

You ever wonder how something becomes SO popular and you still don’t understand what’s all about? That is how I feel about the Trim Healthy Mama (THM) Diet. Women’s Health interviewed me for this, but I couldn’t really find that much info on-line. Yes, I suppose if I bought one of their VERY long books, I’d know more – but then I would probably be bogged down with A LOT of rules, such as, not eating carbs and fats together. No thank you!

Should You See a ‘Regular’ or ‘Non-Diet’ Dietitian? – U.S. News

I could probably write an entire article on this myself. Personally, I call myself a “dietitian” and that’s without an adjective, such as regular or non-diet. My priority has always been to help my clients meet their nutritional goals. I have never been big on the word “diet” – only because I feel most people then think it is something they go “on” and then “off” vs. looking at it as a lifestyle change. However, I 100% support weight loss when done in a healthy way.
