The warm weather is finally upon us (yes – I know I keep saying that), and with that means lots of fresh, seasonal fruits and veggies to enjoy (hint, hint)! I’m sharing 10 healthy summer foods to enjoy more of this summer; why only focus on what we shouldn’t be eating, right? Also, it seems low carb diets are still popping everywhere much to my chagrin, and once again I am trying to set the record straight. Lastly, I’m covering a food that I really wished I loved to eat!

Product Pick of the Week: Brunswick Sardines in Spring Water – No Salt Added

Believe it or not I loved sardines as a child, but not as an adult! They are so nutritious – packed with protein, vitamin B12, vitamin D, calcium and Omega 3’s – they offer a LOT of nutritional bang for your buck. These Brunswick Sardines in Water are low in calories and the sodium content isn’t off the charts as in many other canned fish. These would be great over a salad with lots of colorful veggies, or on a sandwich with whole grain bread, avocado and red onion. Enjoy!!

P.S. I give them to Henry all the time – he LOVES them.

10 Healthy Foods to Eat This Summer

Summer eating can get murky quickly – between the BBQ’s, happy hours and fast food options on road trips, you may feel like the list of “don’t eat this” is longer than what you should be eating. I say – nonsense! Check out my US News blog for which seasonal produce and other foods you should definitely think about eating more of this summer.

Everything You Need to Know Before Going on a Low-Carb Diet

Will the talk about low-carb diets ever disappear? While there are cases where following a low carb diet, for a period of time, MAY make sense, it’s certainly not for everyone. And a low carb diet definitely isn’t a “one-size fits all” quick fix for weight loss! Don’t miss my interview with Women’s Health for all the facts on low carb diets, AND the bottom line to finding the balance you may really need!
