Last week I spent four days in Boston at my national convention. It’s where all the registered dietitians from across the country get together to go to nutrition lectures and find out about new products. It is also a time to visit with old friends, as well make new ones. Networking is fun, but can also be hard work! Once I got home, I started a yoga teacher training. After practicing for more than seventeen years I thought it would be a natural fit for me. As to whether or not I will actually teach yoga, that is yet to be determined. For now, it is simply about deepening my own practice. As I told my mother this morning, I am taking each day as it comes! And guess what – that is my advice for all of you. We don’t always have to have it all figured out. Follow your gut and have faith in where it takes you. Oh….and a long the way, make sure you are getting enough sleep. (Yes Mom I am trying to!!!!)

4 Food Trends Driven More By Consumers’ Fears Than Science

As I said above – I just got back from my national convention. Since I attend the conference as press I am always looking for something to write about upon my return. My typical hope is that I will find fabulous food trends that I can share; but truthfully, this time I was more overwhelmed with a trend that I found upsetting rather than exciting. And if you know me at all, I just had to get it off my chest!

6 Healthy Eating Tricks Registered Dietitians Use To Stay On Track All Day Long

As long as I can remember I have started my dinner with a salad. It’s really amazing the habits you develop (good or bad) since childhood. Loved sharing this tip (I don’t really think of it as a “trick”) with Self Magazine. In full disclosure – breakfast was my first answer, but someone else already had taken it. And furthermore, the martini pictured sometimes does go hand in hand! Hmmm…maybe that should of been my trick :))))

6 Nutritionists Share Their Go-To Healthy Lunches For Insanely Busy Days

Hate when people say they have NO time for a healthy lunch! Really? It’s takes that much more time to make (or order) something good for you than not? Somehow I never really buy that. But in any event, thanks to Women’s Health Magazine for providing its readers with some healthy options.  I have a confession to make though; for years I stopped eating tuna fish. Not sure why, just didn’t have a taste for it. And then one day – I started eating it again and haven’t stopped! Strange how sometimes these things are. That’s why honestly you should always be open to trying new (and old) foods!
