I don’t know about the rest of you, but sometimes I really have NO idea what to cook for dinner! It’s like, “just ate that” or “totally not in the mood”. Who can relate? Anyway, the other day in my quandary, I realized I hadn’t eaten scallops in like forever, so that solved the problem. Googled how to grill scallops (olive oil, salt & pepper, 3 minutes/side), looked in the fridge for a grain to cook (hello black rice) and picked up a tex-mex salad at the store simply because it called my name. Now, if I could only decide what to eat tonight? Hmmm, maybe I’ll just go out!

‘I Eat French Fries and I’m Proud of It.’ U.S. News Eat + Run

Recently I was at a birthday party for a friend and met some new people. As it seems to always happen when someone finds out I’m a nutritionist, they began with the questions and comments about my eating choices and about their’s. If I could make money off of the shock on so many faces when they learn I hate kale and sweet potatoes, yet love french fries and burgers, I would probably be a millionaire. Read on for my confessions, so if we meet at a party, you’ll know NOT what to ask!

Who’s kidding who? Secrets revealed? Maybe not so many secrets, since speaking for myself I have shared this information many times before, but rather good, old tips that you should not forget! Thanks for my colleague, Amy Gorin, RD, for rounding up some really great ideas on how to eat healthy.

Starbucks new dairy free drink is delicious, but there’s a catch Livestrong.com

Of course there is a catch! Come on people, you would think by now you would realize that almost all of Starbucks new drinks err more on the side of a dessert than a low-calorie beverage. BUT, as long as you own up to the fact that you are choosing this drink for the pure taste and enjoyment, I can applaud that! However, if you try to kid yourself and others into thinking because of the coconut ingredient it is “good-for-you” drink I am going to have to disagree!
